On October 21, the stars aligned in solidarity and support at the annual A Sense of Home (ASOH) Gala, a star-studded evening dedicated to transforming the lives of aged-out foster youth, who face daunting statistics and often insurmountable obstacles as they transition into adulthood.

The picturesque residence of Ambassador Nicole Avant and Ted Sarandos provided a backdrop of warmth and community as the gala honored Charlotte and Gary Gilbert for their relentless support and Jeneva Bell for her impactful contribution through the ASOH Scholarship. The energy of benevolence filled the air, beginning with heartfelt welcome remarks by Drew Scott, which set the stage for an evening where generosity flowed as seamlessly as the conversations.

Soleil Moon Frye and ASOH's CEO and Founder, Georgie Smith, ignited the audience's giving spirit during a poignant Live Appeal. Their rallying cry resonated with the attendees, helping to raise over $1 million, a testament to the shared commitment toward preventing homelessness among former foster individuals.

A musical zenith was reached when Aloe Blacc took the stage, delivering a soul-stirring performance that included his hit "Wake Me Up." His music, reflective of the night's theme of hope and resilience, was a reminder of the profound impact of collective action. Further emotional waves were created by Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman, who shared inspiring words celebrating the honorees' dedication and achievements.

The gala, an elegant affair punctuated by powerful speeches, also featured Ambassador Nicole Avant, whose moving remarks served as a beacon of light, echoing through the hearts of the more than 350 guests. Motivational speaker Regina Louise captivated the audience, emphasizing the interconnectedness of humanity and the power of empathy and support.

The event wasn't just about the speeches; it was a celebration highlighted by the presence of influential personalities including Sam Smith, Esai Morales, and Sugar Ray Leonard, among others. Their participation demonstrated a united front in the fight against the adversities facing those aging out of foster care.

As the evening progressed, guests were treated to culinary delights by Annie Campbell and exclusive beverages, a contribution highlighting the spirit of community and shared responsibility. DJ Michelle Pesce spun a set that kept the energy high, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy.

The success of the event was also propelled by the generosity of exclusive sponsors like Ikiro, Ruggable, and Piper-Heidsieck Champagne. The silent auction, featuring luxurious getaways and unique experiences, further underscored the commitment of the ASOH community.

The gala concluded on a high note, with guests receiving an assortment of thoughtful gifts, including Ambassador Avant's inspiring book, "Think You’ll Be Happy." The tome, a symbol of resilience and hope, mirrors the qualities that ASOH aims to instill in the youth they serve.

The ASOH Gala was more than a fundraiser; it was a declaration that society must and can do better for its most vulnerable. With staggering facts underscoring the crisis facing aged-out foster youth, the event stood as a beacon of what is possible when hearts, minds, and resources come together to uplift others. As ASOH continues to champion this cause, the night's resonance will undoubtedly carry forward, driving future initiatives and creating first-ever homes, providing scholarships, and preventing the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
