Celebrating Resilience

Stars Unite at the 34th Annual Friendly House Luncheon to Honor Recovery and Empower Women

The 34th annual Friendly House Luncheon brought together an inspiring group of individuals to celebrate hope, resilience, and recovery. Held at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, the event gathered supporters such as Lucy Hale, Angela Renee White, Tallulah Willis, Sasha Pieterse, Charlotte Ross, Bishop Briggs, and John Gourley of Portugal. The Man, all united in their support of women from diverse gender experiences recovering from substance use disorders and mental health challenges.

Award-winning actress Lucy Hale, Warner Chappell Music’s SVP of A&R Greg Sowders, DEIB advocate Zina Rodriguez, and award-winning psychologist Dr. Don Grant were honored for their exceptional dedication to empowering women in recovery. A special highlight of the afternoon was the reunion of Pretty Little Liars co-stars Sasha Pieterse and Lucy Hale, with Pieterse presenting Hale with the Humanitarian Award. Hale delivered a moving speech about her own journey with sobriety, sharing her experience of choosing herself over addiction and celebrating her approaching 1,000 days of sobriety.

Angela Renee White, also known as Blac Chyna, marked a significant milestone during the luncheon. Friendly House Executive Director Christina Simos led a rendition of “Happy Birthday” to commemorate White’s two years of sobriety, with a birthday cake and heartfelt celebration.

Guests were treated to powerful performances by Grammy Award winner John Gourley and Platinum Recording Artist Bishop Briggs, who later presented Greg Sowders with the Visionary Award for his contributions to the recovery community.

Hosted by entrepreneur and artist Tallulah Willis, the luncheon balanced levity with the seriousness of its cause. Friendly House, the first residential substance abuse recovery program created by women for women, has been providing life-saving support for over 73 years. The nonprofit’s mission is sustained through private donations, grants, and fundraising events like the Annual Awards Luncheon. The organization remains committed to enhancing recovery outcomes for all women, regardless of race, age, gender identity, or economic background.
