LA holds the largest Iranian New Year, Nowruz, Celebration in the world, by nonprofit Farhang Foundation and it is on Sunday, March 10.
Nowruz is joyously celebrated by over 98 million people worldwide and there are over 1 million people in Southern California. Nowruz, or “new day,” is an ancient celebration of the vernal equinox—a universal time of rebirth and renewal. Once again, LA holds the LARGEST Nowruz, Iranian New Year Celebration!
The FREE daylong program (12 pm - 5 pm) is suitable for all ages and includes traditional music, arts and crafts, dance, food, children's activities, stilt walkers, and the signature Grand Haft Sîn display. The artful display forms an exquisite centerpiece of the Nowruz festivities.
