Deborah Frank
Arts & Culture Commissioner, City of Beverly Hills
Deborah Frank has significantly influenced the Beverly Hills arts and culture scene. As an Arts and Culture Commissioner, her passion and dedication have resulted in innovative art installations that captivate audiences and reshape the city's artistic landscape. Her notable contributions on the Commission included the COVID-safe "Visions of Light: Windows on the Wallis," realized with TZ Projects. This outdoor exhibit showcased over 40 artists' work on the exterior windows of The Wallis, creating a luminous and unique drive-by art experience during the evening hours.
Collaborating with Saks Fifth Avenue, Lisa Baker, and Marc Selwyn Fine Art, Deborah was key in presenting a large-scale video installation by acclaimed artist William Wegman. Showcased at the former Barney's location, the installation featured Wegman's famed weimaraners in "Up Down Up" and "Harmonics." Beyond her work with hotels and community events, Deborah strives to make fine art universally accessible. She played a pivotal role in developing the Beverly Hills art walk-guided tours, greatly enhanced by the revitalized Beverly Gardens—a project supported through her fundraising efforts alongside her co-chairs, focusing on garden rehabilitation and sustainable practices.
Leveraging her experience from The Broad Museum, Deborah brings invaluable expertise in contemporary art presentation and audience engagement, significantly contributing to arts education, exhibition curation, and community fundraising throughout Beverly Hills. Deborah extends her arts advocacy into local schools and museums, launching art programs and encouraging youth participation. Her impact on Beverly Hills High School exemplifies her commitment to fostering an artistic legacy for young creators. Her vision is a vibrant, inclusive, culturally rich community where art inspires, educates, and unites.
