Bathed in the morning light of Beverly Hills, a new day unfolds in Epiphany Boutique. It's more than just a store to its owner, Sherry Andrus - it's a multisensory experience. "Visually enlightening, beautiful smells, calm music, touching soft and luxurious products, and we offer of wine, imported teas, or coffee," Sherry explains. Beyond retail, the Epiphany Boutique stands as a manifestation of Sherry's passion and life journey.

Sherry's dream of owning a boutique began in the backdrop of a corporate career with large retailers. She transformed this aspiration into reality in 2007 in Dallas, armed with her marketing degree and a minor in fashion design, decor, and merchandising from The Ohio State University. Sherry's boutique, inspired by the boho aesthetic of stores like Anthropologie, thrived amidst the economic turmoil between 2007 and 2009, buoyed by Texas' resilient economy.

In time, Sherry's entrepreneurial aspirations led her west to California. After considering multiple areas, she found a perfect fit in Beverly Hills, particularly South Beverly Drive. The old-school charm, history, and community-centric vibe resonated with her Dallas experience. Transitioning her business was a seamless process, thanks to the city's strong support for small, women-owned enterprises. "The authentic Beverly Hills is a magical community full of friendly, warm, and welcoming neighbors. As a newcomer, I was genuinely received as an individual as well as a small business owner," she notes.

Sherry's journey isn't solely about the evolution of Epiphany Boutique but also the intricate weaving of her personal life into the fabric of her entrepreneurial journey. As an only child raised by a single mother who loved shopping, Sherry traveled extensively from an early age. This inadvertently foreshadowed her retail career. The decision to relocate to California was also family-driven, with two of her children already living there, and her son expressing interest in joining them. Now a proud grandmother to Leo, she finds strength and energy in her family's close bond.

In the community, Sherry has made her mark, currently serving on the Board as the Events Chair for the Women's Business Network powered by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, who organized their inaugural “Women Who Shine” Gala at the Peninsula Beverly Hills earlier this year. She's committed to empowering women entrepreneurs and fostering a safe space for dialogue and learning.

Yet, Sherry's identity extends beyond her entrepreneurial pursuits. She finds joy in the little things - her daily three-mile walks that connect her with nature, an eclectic music playlist featuring artists like Stevie Nicks, or her flair for interior decorating. A true adventurer, Sherry regularly explores local gems or sets off on solo trips to destinations like Laguna Beach, Malibu, and soon, Paris.

Sherry's life motto is "Control your own destiny," a phrase she embodies wholeheartedly. Whether it's relocating her business cross-country, contributing to local organizations, or planning her next travel adventure, Sherry takes full ownership of her life's journey, always primed for the next opportunity or challenge.

Sherry's passion for her business and her community is palpable. She deeply values her interactions with her patrons and the friendships she forges. "The core of our city is its people," she states, and this conviction makes Epiphany Boutique more than just a retail destination. It's a place where relationships are built and shopping is elevated to a celebration of the senses.

In terms of her retail strategy, while Epiphany does have a website, Sherry believes that the secret to her success is crafting a unique, engaging in-store experience. "Our environment and ambiance set us apart," she asserts. The boutique's offerings, such as exclusive luxury candles, crystals, sage, and boho-chic clothes, further accentuate this unique vibe. More than just a store; it's a community hub, an expression of Sherry's vision and commitment.

Sherry takes immense pride in supporting artisans who design and craft the 14K gold-filled jewelry available at her store, uniquely curated for Epiphany Boutique. The shop's name signifies a manifestation of the senses and an acknowledgement of life's journey ahead, reflecting Sherry's holistic approach to retail.

Looking ahead, Sherry has grand plans for her boutique and her role in the Beverly Hills community. Her ambitions include potentially opening one or two more Epiphany locations in Southern California and taking on a more substantial leadership role within the City of Beverly Hills.

Reflecting on her journey so far, Sherry states, "One of my most profound accomplishments is to have relocated an established business singlehandedly – a challenge I am exceedingly proud of." Her entrepreneurial tale, from Dallas to Beverly Hills, serves as an inspiring testament to her resilience and determination.

Sherry's story reminds us that dreams can come true with perseverance and a desire to steer one's destiny. Her tale is not just about building a successful business, but also about crafting a life she loves, one that harmoniously blends her passion for retail, her commitment to her community, and her love for her family.

Sherry's entrepreneurial journey is still unfolding. As she takes a moment to savor the Beverly Hills sunset, she reiterates the mantra that's guided her through her journey: "Each day is a gift. I embrace each day and always look for the positives." This narrative is a testament to her ambition, passion, and determination, proof that she's not just shaping her destiny, but also shaping the retail landscape of Beverly Hills."
